Season 1

One Nation Under Butch
Captain Butch Freedomson assumes command of the USS Liberty Punch, the pride of the United Federation of Democratic Space Nations (UFDSN), with a simple mission: spread democracy, enforce freedom, and obliterate tyranny—by any means necessary. But from the moment he takes the bridge, it's clear that his approach to leadership is as aggressive as the ship's arsenal.

As Butch delivers his first Commander's Log, he sets the tone for his reign—freedom comes at a price, and he’s more than willing to make others pay it. Assigned to Zeltron-9, a remote colony rumored to be fostering "anti-democratic sentiments," Butch wastes no time in making first contact. But diplomacy isn’t exactly his strong suit.

Upon arrival, he broadcasts a mandatory liberation speech to the people of Zeltron-9, offering them two options: embrace democracy willingly, or have it forcibly installed via orbital bombardment. The local leader, Emperor Quarvax, is unimpressed. Having survived countless invasions, planetary fire tornadoes, and the occasional intergalactic warlord, he scoffs at Butch's ultimatum. Butch, in turn, takes this as a direct challenge to democracy itself.

Ignoring the objections of his second-in-command, Lieutenant Dick Steelheart, Butch orders the activation of the ship’s most powerful weapon: the Justice Ray—a devastating device originally intended as a last-resort measure. Steelheart hesitates, arguing that no shots have even been fired yet, but Butch overrules him. Zeltron-9 is vaporized in an instant, leaving nothing but cosmic dust and a dramatic explosion replayed from five different angles.

Back at UFDSN Command, Admiral Roosevelt Eisenhower contacts the Liberty Punch, furious—not because of the destruction, but because he wasn’t able to witness it firsthand. Instead of reprimanding Butch, Eisenhower field-promotes him to Captain and grants him access to even more destructive weaponry, declaring that "freedom never sleeps" and that the UFDSN must never allow resistance to fester.

Meanwhile, Steelheart, horrified by the casual genocide, openly questions Butch’s leadership. Eisenhower shuts him down, making it clear that hesitation in the line of duty is a greater offense than the destruction of an entire planet. The episode ends with Butch reveling in his new rank, setting a course for their next mission: the forcible liberation of Tax Exemptia-8, as the screen fades to black with his final order—
